How did you know you wanted to be a professional dancer?
In the beginning I just wanted to be active. Let out my energy. I practiced a lot of sports before enrolling the dance school in Cuba. I practiced soccer, martial arts, baseball, and boxing. I always needed to be moving.
If you could meet anyone, alive or dead, who would it be?
Achilles. He would be pretty cool to talk to.
Describe your most memorable dream?
Not too many of my dreams are clear. They are all disorganized and the roles change. I see the physical body of someone with the energy and personality of someone else. And every single time I dream I remember what happened. But I forget it within two days!
Tell me about the time you got in big trouble when you were a kid.
I always got in trouble. When I was a kid there was a teacher who was mean to me. So someone told me I should throw a rock at him as revenge. So I did it. I hid in a tree and when he walked by I hit him in the head and in the back. Then I ran away. That was probably the biggest trouble I had ever gotten into.
