ARTISTIC FEATS   Hedwig Dances’ 25th Anniversary Concert at the renowned Dance Center of Columbia College Chicago celebrated the world premiere of Dance of Forgotten Steps choreographed by Founder/Artistic Director Jan Bartoszek.  “A personal work and a reflection on my 25+ years as a dance artist”, this piece was created in collaboration with sculptor Barbara Cooper, video projection designer Petra Bachmaier of luftwerk, lighting designer Margaret Nelson, costume designer Carol Genetti, and sound designer Victoria “Toy” Delorio. To underscore this milestone year, Hedwig Dances commissioned two guest choreographers to create and set new pieces on the ensemble.  The world premiere of Dust (For Jack) by Andrea Miller and the Midwest premiere of Sawdust Palace Suite by Susan Marshall also lit up the marquee. The Company collaborated with Same Planet Different World in the evening presentation of Walking…Drifting at the Hamlin Park Fieldhouse Theatre. The evening also included ensemble member Michel Rodriguez’s Walking.
