ARTISTIC FEATS  Audiences were wowed as Hedwig Dances celebrated its 10th ANNIVERSARY with three weekends of world premiere performances in the klieg lights coming from the Chicago Cultural Center:  Viva! by Jan Bartoszek with costumes by Kris Cahill and music by Chris Salter, Dog-Leg Drag-line (Drum Groove Tolerance) by Sheldon B. Smith with music by David Pavkovic, and, Jan Bartoszek’s collaborative work, Conversation II, with guest choreographer Hema Rajagopalan of Natyakalalayam Dance Company. A “Best Of” on the same bill reprised past favorites by Jan Bartoszek:  Flight/Fight Dance (1986), I Depend on Tango (1989), Clearing, Made of Dream (1994), plus, Sheldon Smith’s Duet for Two III (1994). Hedwig Dancer Chia-Yu Chang is honored with a Ruth Page Award for dance achievement.
