spotlight 28 Hedwig Dances presents the chicago debut of the world-renowned, Cuban dance company, DanzAbierta, and the U.s. premiere of Showroom in a shared performance weekend at the Athenaeum Theatre-Chicago. Receiving rave reviews, this marked a turning point in the takeoff of an international artistic exchange between choreographers Jan Bartoszek and Susana Pous.
Footlights Hedwig Dances’ own Victor Alexander is named one of the illustrious “25 to Watch” in the January issue of Dance Magazine. Travel patrons on the second, person-to-person Touch Tour Cuba were privileged to view a window to the world of culture and history of this beautiful country through the eyes of Hedwig Dances’ Maray gutierrez and Victor Alexander who hail from Havana, Cuba. Their visits with Danza contemporanea de cuba and DanzAbierta were sight unseen, magnifico!
