ARTISTIC FEATS The beat went on at MoMing Dance & Arts Center as Hedwig Dances premiered Jan Bartoszek’s Of Love and Shadows, “blending percussion, East and West” with primeval drumming performed live on stage by Winston Damon and Shu Shubat. “A rear stage silhouette provides a third plane of imagery, but the key to the movement, and to the dance as a whole, is in the tricky, multitalented feats of the two percussionists.” Sid Smith, Chicago Tribune.
The reprise of Jan Bartoszek’s I Depend on Tango (1988) and her new dance work, In The Home Of, which debuted earlier in the year at Links Hall, were also performed by Lydia Charaf, Darryl Clark, Derek Clifford, Lezlee Crawford, Pat DuChene, Betty Kass, Todd Kiech, Patricia Mowen and Karen Traxler.
