Ana Beatriz Perez

Choreographer | Dancer | Teacher

Ana Beatriz Perez graduated from the National School of Arts in Havana, Cuba with a specialty in modern and folk dance (1984-1991). For ten years, she was a member of the Contemporary Dance Company of Cuba. She participated in national and international tours in America and Europe, obtaining the title of prima ballerina. In 2001 she moved to Spain and joined several different companies such as Druida Danza, Trespasando, and in the Entremans Company, where she currently works.

Ms. Perez has been teaching regular classes at Artestudio Dance and Theater since 2006 and at the Municipal School of Dance of Oleiros since 2013. She obtained a degree in Pedagogy of Contemporary Dance Style from the Superior Conservatory of Dance in Madrid. She has collaborated as a choreographer with various artists from the scenic field such as: Sarabela Teatro y Teatro de Ningures Company, as well as in artistic and educational projects within the community, with the Senior University of La Coruña through the TRC Danza Platform, the MUSE Project of the Yehudi Foundation. Menuhin, “Educate with the Arts” and the Educational Project “An artist in the School” of the Barrié de la Coruña Foundation. On her own, she has created the pieces Maps and Iceberg for unconventional spaces. She has recently premiered the room piece “Medulla” in Co-creation with the Exire Company and currently preparing a new creation that will be released at the end of September 2020. In the Spring 2021 she will premiere a virtual new work for Hedwig Dances in Chicago.
