(1989) Of Love and Shadows

Description

Of Love and Shadows explores seduction, sensuality, and the ways couples share and conceal intimate parts of themselves.  Jan Bartoszek created the dance with two pairs of lovers, dancers Derek Clifford and Karen Traxler, who alternately perform in front of and behind a scrim, and the drumming couple Shu Shubat and Winston Damon who transform their rhythmic instruments into objects that both transform and cover their bodies.

Critique(s)

“There’s decidedly an Eastern meditative feel and sound to “Of Love and Shadows,” just as there is an underlying primeval beat.”
