From Source to Surface, is Hedwig Dances’ signature partnering workshop. This class focuses on sensitizing dancers to their partner’s touch, weight, and effort while teaching solid movement principles and body mechanics. In addition to the essential attention on partnering fundamentals, students are challenged to explore the conceptual elements equally significant to successful partnering such as trust and shared space with their companion dancer. Participants not only learn valuable skills to incorporate into their personal practices, but skills that also equip them with capabilities useful to many of their professional demands.
